Yes save everything. Anything broken needs replaced and can be sold at pawn shop as well as any old materials or furniture you don't need

One thing I didn’t get is why do some assembly steps use mechanics while others use transporters. It’s hard to tell the right ratio needed.

Actually it was a German who invented the car. Henry Ford was just the first one to mass produce them with an assembly line and by doing so make them more affordable.

the bars on enclosures breaking after a short period is definitely annoying and silly, I also think they need to ease up on how quickly other items break, and it would be cool to see the animals playing with the toys and scratching posts

It's nice to see the focus on adoption of individual animals. I always did find the usual zoo sim idea of just buying as many elephants etc. as you wanted a bit immersion-breaking and unrealistic. In practice, if you wanted an elephant, you'd have to wait for another zoo or animal rescue to have one to spare. You can't just go down the supermarket for a packet of elephants.
